Designing Mission Control for AI Assistance

Mission-control products already know how to communicate complex state under pressure. AI features should inherit that rigor, not bypass it.

For high-stakes workflows, assistant output should be treated like telemetry: timestamped, attributable, reviewable, and reversible.

The interaction model that works best is progressive autonomy. Start with suggestions, graduate to supervised actions, and only then allow bounded automation.

The goal is not to make AI feel clever. The goal is to make decisions faster, safer, and easier to audit.
