Agent UX Is a Systems Problem

A lot of teams treat agent UX as a text box problem. In reality, it is a systems problem with interface consequences.

If users cannot see what the agent is doing, why it chose a tool, and what failed, they stop trusting it quickly. Trust is earned through visible state and deterministic recovery, not optimism in prompts.

The practical fix is simple: expose plan steps, show tool status, and always provide a controlled fallback path. Operators need clarity before autonomy.

Great AI product work is less about adding magic and more about making model behavior legible under real constraints.
